WEST END CLINIC TURNS 60
For our 60th anniversary, our community has shared how we have made a difference in your lives. These testimonies warm our hearts. Thank you.
Dr & Mrs A.B Claudius-Cole, Founders of West End Clinic
I first met Dr Bisi Cole when she cared for an elderly, unwell aunt. What struck me was her empathy for her patient. My aunt in her heyday was the Uber Boss Lady who ran her own show. She wasn't used to taking orders from anyone, not even from her doctor and for her own good. She had definitive views on how her treatment should be administered (though she wasn't a medical professional). Simply put, she was a stubborn patient!Dr Cole would cajole her to comply with her reasonable medical requests. She was much younger than my aunt and would call her Aunty. She used humor, persuasion, and negotiation. Always patient, always caring, constantly concerned. She advised my aunt to cut back on beer and spirits. One day, Aunty Boss Lady sent her help to get her a beer, which she was enjoying when none other than Dr Cole showed up. Sheepishly, my aunt acknowledged she'd been "caught red-handed". Dr Cole was unflappable and calmly reminded my aunt she needed to drink water, not beer. However, Dr Cole was also pragmatic enough to appreciate how much water goes into making beer, so if that was the way to get my aunt to increase her fluid intake, so be it!On several occasions, we had to call Dr Cole late at night for emergency assistance. She was always ready to drop everything and come to the rescue. She advised us how to navigate a broken healthcare system when we needed, for instance, an ambulance or blood. And when our aunt required hospitalization, as she did twice, West End Clinic provided professional, empathic care to a high standard. It was a stressful time for us all and Dr Cole was that calm, caring presence to steady our nerves. My aunt eventually passed away but Dr Cole's and West End Clinic's caring demeanor provided me with the confidence I needed. I have since registered myself, family members, and staff at the clinic. I've recommended the West End Clinic to countless colleagues and sent many people in my community to benefit from the excellent service. There are, of course, other medical professionals and facilities who also provide excellent care. However, Dr Cole and West End Clinic and these few others are notable because they seem exceptional. How can West End Clinic standards become the norm for general practice across the country? One way to achieve this could be through a healthcare practice funded through a universal health insurance scheme. Because of the relatively high costs of private general medicine, too many people shy away from presenting themselves early for remedial treatment. Sadly, by the time they make it to a doctor's clinic, their condition is chronic and sometimes terminal.Well, introducing such a scheme might require a national policy, though I wonder what stops a consortium of private medical insurers teaming up with West End Clinic and other healthcare providers to pilot a scheme, which could later become national?Bravo Dr Bisi Cole, Nurse Practitioner Femi Claudius-Cole, and the entire team at West End Clinic as you mark the 60th anniversary of a service your parents started. Thank you and your wonderful staff for such a great service. And what about the next 60 years? What's the succession plan?

Dear West End Clinic,I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt testimonial for the exceptional service provided by your hospital. Today, as you celebrate your 60th anniversary, I am reminded of the countless lives you have touched and the incredible impact you have had on my family, friends and me.Owned by the loving figures we affectionately call Mummy and Daddy, West End Clinic has truly been a Godsend. Your hospital has been a sanctuary of care and compassion, providing much-needed support to the poor and needy. One of your daughters, Doctor Olabisi Claudius Cole, has taken the reins and continued the legacy of her parents, becoming a true replica of their dedication and selflessness. What sets West End Clinic apart is your unwavering commitment to providing medical attention, regardless of a patient's ability to pay the consultation fee. I have personally witnessed and experienced the compassion and generosity of your hospital, where even those without means are attended to with dignity and kindness.

2018, I was living in Freetown, working for Mental Health Coalition. It was a difficult year with some traumatic events. Although I was on profylaxe, Malerone, I got malaria. Most likely my immune system was down because of the tough time I was going through. The malaria was very hard to treat, it came back three times. The third time I was really desperate and asked Dr. Bisi for admission. She took me in, treated me with a drip. I stayed over for the night and got better! The staff treated me very well and Dr. Bisi felt like a mother for me during that difficult time!!

My family’s history with West End Clinic goes back over 50 years. Truly Bisi and Femi have kept the legacy of their parents alive. My younger sister and I were born at West End Clinic, and growing up, the Claudius Coles were more of a family than just a medical service provider. My fondest memories as a kid were the buns and rice akara which Matron Claudius Cole always seem to have in abundant supply for us kids after the injections. 😁

West End Clinic has made a huge difference and impart in my life when I had a 3rd degree burns accident due to a cooking gas explosion some months to my NPSE exam.Due to the care from Doc
Cole and nurses at that time I was taught how to walk and write again. The burnt dead skin then were all removed, even though I called her (Dr Cole)wicked at every given time I was given injections, drips or a walking exercise but it was all for my good today. It's been over 15years now I'm forever grateful to God and her hospital. Happy 60th Anniversary God Bless Dr Cole and Longlive West End Clinic

2018 was admitted at West End Clinic for kidney stones. I was terribly sick, but the care and support I received from the staff and Dr Bisi until I was able to travel to Ghana for the operation to remove the stones saved my life. I am extremely grateful for the service they provide and what they did for me. May God continue to bless them. Congratulations and best wishes to Westend Clinic... providing the best health care for many more years to come.😍🙏

"Being on another continent and having to cope with close family members in need of urgent medical care, I have been thankful to have Dr Claudius-Cole and her team at West End clinic on the ground in Freetown to support us through some very challenging times.
Happy 60th Anniversary West End Clinic!!"

"On the 5th October 2018 I was experiencing symptoms of malaria.I became disoriented and had to be taken to west end clinic by my cousin Melrose and my sister Omotunde by the time we arrived I was unconscious.I was treated by the nurses and Dr Bisi. When I regained consciousness in the early hours of 6th October,I was told by the nurse in attendance how they fought to save my life.It was a spiritual battle.I was admitted for 3 days.I was administered the injection Anatol which literally brought me back to life. The next day when Dr Visit visited me,the first thing she said was ""God is good"".
I am grateful that I was taken to West End Clinic and also for the fact that Dr Visit is a believer and blended both the spiritual and medical to attend to me
I would recommend West End Clinic to anyone seeking medical attention at any time and am grateful to the staff for their timely and professional intervention that saved my life on that fateful day "

"West End Clinic provides excellent services to its patients. You know you are in good hands at the Clinic. I had my first child at the clinic and the patience of the nurses and Dr. Olabisi Claudius Cole was what I admired the most. I remembered telling my family that I was so well taken care of at the hospital that I was teary eyed when I left. With regards to my second child I was referred to another hospital for delivery by Dr. Olabisi Claudius Cole but she continued to follow up, even the Nurses at West End Clinic checked on me to see that everything was ok.There are times one is afraid to go to hospitals but the reception of the staff and Doctors at West End Clinic gives you hope.
May GOD bless you all at West End Clinic for your tireless efforts. Continue to make your patients comfortable."

Over two decades ago, I made a decision to serve humanity. However, that dream was only going to be realized with the right knowledge, experience and community.
God's purpose for my life was quickly discovered when I came in contact with the West End Clinic around 1999 in Freetown .This institution offered me one of the greatest opportunities that gave me a spring board in my nursing career.Interestingly, it was at this Clinic that I learned some of the fundamentals like how to take and record vitals, give injection and even witnessed my first delivery case.
To sum it all, it was because of my encounter with this great hospital that I got inspired to apply for an SECHN Certificate which marked the start of my academic journey. That humble begining has changed my whole life and positioned me to serve as a senior health care provider in Sierra Leone's health care system.West End Clinic can be remembered for many great things, but for me it is the place where great health care providers are nurtured and groomed for excellence."

I walked into West End Clinic with a desperate search for internship so I wouldn't waste my holiday but I did not expect the kind of acceptance and convince i received. I explained my plight and to my surprise it was an instant success, no second thought, no interview, no process. It was so convenient that it seemed unreal. Since the day i started working in that hospital i have never felt so fulfilled before. I was regarded as one of the professional staffs even though i was just an intern student. I was given a space to learn and i gained so much that i was confident enough to work in any other hospital. The staffs in that hospital are so professional but yet so down to earth. It was such a wonderful experience that i doubt I'll get anywhere else. They've made such a great impact in my career path particularly deepening my passion for it; medical laboratory scientist. I will gladly work at that place again any chance i get because they are the best.

March 2023 I was privileged to work as a Doctor in training at West End Clinic under the metorship of Dr. Olabisi Claudius-Cole for 3 months. I learned quite a lot from the Clinic from internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology ( Fertility medicine inclusive). Patient care is at its best in the facility. The patient care and satisfaction are the core. Westend Clinic is so clean and comfortable to work in. Many great doctors in our country had passed through it. I'm glad to have been through it as well. Thanks to the Director and management of West End Clinic for your excellentimpact in society. Glory be to God. Happy Anniversary West End Clinic. 60 years of medical excellence and still going.

"West End Clinic was where my late mother Mrs Victoria Wilson delivered her 5 children and was the 'go-to' place for all our medical problems.
I remember being taken there so many times in the first 10 years of my life. There was a time I was dared to taste the caustic soda my mother was using to make soap and had to be rushed to West End Clinic after I was discovered hiding with my tongue so swollen that it could no longer fit in my mouth.Memories of dedicated staff and 24 hour services.Congratulations West End Clinic. "

West End Clinic has been my family neighborhood clinic since childhood. It has been of great service to my late parents beginning with the Late Dr Claudius Cole and Mrs Cole.Dr Olabisi Claudius Cole and staff were exceptional during my late mother and mother-in-law illness. Dr Bisi has been very supportive to my in-laws, relatives and friends that I refer to West End.She has made home visit treatments for my parents and in-laws, her service and dedication exemplifies a great servant leader.Working in the healthcare industry as a Registered Nurse in the US, it is with great pleasure that I congratulate the entire West End Clinic on their 60th anniversary of exceptional service to the community during this difficult times.May God bless Dr Olabisi Claudius Cole and staff.

There is no doubt that the Westend Clinic has stood the test of time and has a proven track record. Sixty (60) years ago, the Late Dr. Claudius Cole saw the need for a private hospital/clinic and even though he is no more, his dream lives on, going from strength to strength through his daughter, Dr. Olabisi Cole. Dr. Oalabisi Cole is synonymous with Westend Clinic. In late July of this year (2023), our beloved mother fell ill and was admitted to the Westend Clinic. Even before her illness, she was being seen by Dr. Cole regularly due to aging ailments. Dr. Cole and her staff gave her the best treatment and to our satisfaction. She would advise us on the phone not to worry about travelling hastily to town, since most of us where out of the country. When she realised that it was time for us to travel in as soon as possible, she told us. She said, “ you know, I want you people to come now so that you can spend some time with her and celebrate her birthday. I don’t want you to come when it would be too late.” We understood immediately what she was driving at and we quickly booked flights to come to town.We really appreciated Dr. Cole and her team because indeed we were able to spend some quality time with our mother. She passed away barely a week after our arrival and a day and a half after her 83rd birthday. We cannot thank Dr. Cole and her incredible staff enough for the care and professionalism demonstrated. We salute them. Thank you for being more than just a doctor. We pray that God the Almighty will continue to bless Westend Clinic abundantly and that it shall grow from strength to strength.Thank you.

In three-score years, West End Clinic has scored uncountable health goals in the lives of Sierra Leoneans. To say how and when it has impacted my life, and those of my family members, can only be captured by the expression, “Life-long and ongoing”.The name is West End Clinic, but the service it still provides, has catered for residents from all conceivable ends and corners of the West End of Freetown, and far beyond.I was a teenager when Dr. Abayomi Claudius-Cole established the West End Clinic at Edward Street, just a stone’s throw from my home, at 70 Sander Street. The life-sustaining impact on my person and family none could have foreseen. To date, West End Clinic over the years, has offered me temporary accommodation on several occasions.Dr. A.B. Claudius-Cole, the founder, was certainly a father-figure in my domestic and professional life as a dramatist. The major health challenges in my life have generally been malaria-based. I want to thank God for the combined expertise over time of West End Clinic, Fourah Bay College and Brookfields Community Hospitals, for being instrumental in ensuring that my physical existence is still on-going.
West End Clinic could easily be designated the standing Health Contractors to my family. While thanking God for the Claudius-Cole family, I must not fail to acknowledge the contribution of their dedicated nurses, for as long as I have been on their books.Dr. Cole was first a fan and then an ardent patron of Tabule Theatre while I was an active-member. His private residence as a rehearsal venue for the group, afforded me a venue for some of my most memorable compositions, including the Tabule anthem. We were an extension of his family, and I would remain personally indebted to him throughout my life.A genuine human being, Dr. Cole by his lifestyle, taught many of us, PERSEVERANCE, HUMILITY, LOVE FOR HUMANITY, PATRIOTISM and SELF -SACRIFICE that will put many NGO endeavours to shame, anywhere in the world.West End Clinic is indeed Dr. Cole’s living and enduring legacy, and it is fitting and commendable that Dr. Olabisi Claudius-Cole has capably carried the mantle. As we say our thanks to the West End Clinic, we are scribbling a deserving epitaph to the lives and memory of Dr. and Matron Abayomi Claudius-Cole.For the role that the West End Clinic family has played in mine, and the lives of many Sierra Leoneans over the years, may God Almighty keep the institution in circulation till the end of time.GOD BLESS WEST END CLINIC

West End Clinic is not only an ordinary Clinic It's a humanitarian Clinic why i said that is whether u are registered or not in this Clinic as u a sick and step ur feet in that Clinic u are automatically healed. The faces of the nurses working there are very pleasant. Even the proprietor and proprietress of this Clinic are very pleasant and ready to put smiles on the patient faces. We all work together as a team and as a family. Their staff problems are their problem. Our Matron Mrs R Claudius Cole treated us like her children not as a worker. That was why i able to work for them for 30yrs before retired. I wish the Clinic well and advise the nurses to work hard to build the Clinic up to higher level.May the proprietor and proprietress of this Clinic Rest In Perfect Peace.

I came to know the West End Clinic (WEC) through my parents, Mr. & Mrs. Cyril Mammah. I was 8 years old when I heard the name “West End Clinic” aand it was when the 3rd of my siblings was to be delivered at that time at the WEC.That baby boy is now a 56 years old gentleman. Since then the WEC became a household name of the Mammah family
In the early seventies our last sibling was delivered and it was during that pregnancy that “Pa Cole” (Dr. Claudius Cole) detected that Mummy had Cancer. Through the help of God and with Dr.’s expertise, counselling and encouragement, mummy was able to manage the crisis and was able to have normal delivery.Few months Later she began to have challenges and Dr. recommended an operation - urethrectomy. This was well done and managed by the Western Clinic team and Mummy and Daddy then became “costament” Costumers at the WEC.
By the special grave of God, Mummy’s cancer crisis, was well managed at the WEC and she was able to be up and doing for 11 good years. To the glory of God, she was indoor just 9 weeks before she passed away.
After mummy’s passing away Daddy was diagnose with thrombosis in 1981 and it was detected at the WEC. This was managed at the clinic. He was up and doing until he took ill for two weeks and passed away on the 24 October 1982 when he passed away.
As the only sibling who is in Freetown family, I thought it fit to follow my Father’s footprint in keeping in touch with WEC. I was then thinking of going there just for casual checks. Then one Sunday, I came across Dr. Bisi at the St. Augustine’s church and talking with her, moved me to make casual non-medical visit to the Clinic. Guess what, I noticed that the Clinic runs almost just the way “Pa Cole” operated the clinic. The neatness, compassion and the attitude of “care before cash” was still very evident.Round about 2012, I had an attack. I was feeling as if I have no water in my system to the extent of smelling as if I was sweating blood. I also felt as if my body was on fire within. I went to WEC and I was admitted, Dr. and the clinical staff treated me as if nothing was wrong. They made me laugh all the time and so in stead of looking up to them for my medication, I was looking out for fun. It was then I learnt the phrase “We diagnose and Jesus heals”. With the help of God through the expertise of Dr. Bisi and her team, I was healed.WEC now became an household name and sometime in 2019 my one of sons had an heart attack. He was admitted at the WEC. I will never forget the love, warmth and exceptional care that was given to him. He was treated as the son of Dr. Olabisi. Dr. Bisi was fully in charge of the situation. Dr. Bisi only ask my son’s consent when there is a need for it. She helped with every arrangement and made other medical contacts. She was actively involved up to the point when my son had to leave for India to continue medical treatment. My son was given every needed attention. Even as visitors, we felt hopeful and experienced compassion from the team who showed attention as they managed visitation. Thanks be to God that my son came back from India healed, in the name of Jesus. Today WEC is his family clinic. In 2021, my granddaughter had an attack and I had to rush with her to the WEC. She was so hot and restless. The attention she received at WEC, was so impressive to her that she said “I like Dr. Bisi and I want to be a Doctor like her”. On to this day she still desires to be like no other Dr. but like Dr. Bisi. She is now in form 1 and I have a promise to her that she will start holiday visit to the West End Clinic if she continues to get good grades in secondary school Secondary as she used to have while she was in the in Primary school.Another thing I do appreciate is the loving manner in which the Claudius-Cole family have pulled themselves together in giving medical services to the community. Aunty Femi, whenever she is in the Clinic she would do her own bit.
In 2018,my husband had an attack and he was rushed to the WEC.Unfortunately by the time they arrived he had passed on. One thing I do appreciate was the fact that instead of wrapping him up and having me to come and open up a sheet to know that he was dead, they allowed his remains to lay on the bed, in his normal clothes till I reached the hospital. That last view of him is what I have kept. Even when he was in his casket, I kept the view of him on that bed at WEC in mind. That view now remains to be my last view of him.It was as if he was sleeping due to some medication Dr. Bisi had administered. Thanks so much WEC Team members.
I pray that West End clinic will continue with its nature of exceptional care and deep compassion towards not only those who are sick but also to those who care for the sick.May God bless the Claudius-Cole family, especially Dr. Olabisi-Cole who is now the Medical Practitioner running the Clinic.

Thank you Dr. Claudius Cole.In 1970, my five months old son, Duka Steady had cerebral malaria and a bad cold. We took him to two doctors and he did not get better. One of our neighbors recommended Dr. Claudius Cole on Edward Street. Dr. Cole saw the baby, my mother and I right away because of his serious condition. He was admitted and Dr. Cole and his team treated him with care, compassion and a type of professionalism I had never seen before. When he was being discharged after a stressful week of treatment, Dr. Cole said to me: “Cerebral malaria in children under one-year old is the one disease that scares me the most. I can handle the worst case of TB, pneumonia and other terrible diseases but malaria in infants is the most difficult. Don’t worry, he will be all right and make you proud.”My son is now a grown man with two university degrees and a successful career in the media industry in the USA.

In 1982, I safely delivered my girl who is 41yrs now at West End ClinicIn 1996 I was confirmed hypertensive and later diabetic. Both has been and is being managed well by West End Clinic to date.In 2005, my daughter collapsed one day and was rushed to West Ends Clinic. She was revived and treated and some days later she walked out from the clinic alive. In 2009, one of my blood vessels burst because I was neglecting my bp medication. Again my life was rescued by westend Clinc.I was treated and my blood pressure was brought down to a level that was safe after some days.As long as I'm in the country, West End Clinic will always be my first choice.

It was September 23 a night I would always remember in that the weather was rather unruly that night when my first born was ushered into this world. The process was normal if it can be described as such. I left my wife Valentina amidst euphoria associated with such events. The next day with my head still in the clouds I reported at the West End Clinic to check on how mother & child passed the night only to be told that at that trying time in the Political history of Mama Salone that the then watch man braved the situation to fetch Dr Claudius Cole (Late) who also reacted promptly & saved the situation by encapsulating his greatness by addressing rupture that had occurred not detected at the time.Hence in naming my son I called him Abayomi in gratitude to the greatest physician. May his gentle soul continue to rest in peace.

West End Clinic has been a real blessing in my life and that of my family for the past 10-15 years. There are numerous instances to site. One particular instance was whilst she was on holiday in Jamaica, she held virtual consult on a very sick patient over 5 days on a daily basis. She did this to ensure the safety of her parient after the parient having made the rounds from three "reputable hospitals".
Suffice to say the patient was diagnosed effectively and treated accordingly by staff at West End Clinic. This is termed dedication par excellence! The professionalism of Dr Olabisi Claudius-Cole and her staff surpasses none in my experience. Dr Cole is thorough in her investigations and makes you feel that the hippocratic oath taken is not just a gesture but one that has meaning at West End Clinic.Their service is indeed to heal the sick in mind, body & spirit and not to cause harm. Thank you for your service to this nation & beyond...

West End Clinic is a huge source of pride cherished memories for me as the granddaughter of the founders Rosalind and Dr Dr Abayomi Claudius-Cole, and niece of its current CEO and lead physician, Dr Olabisi Claudius-Cole.West End Clinic is a huge pillar of the community and a lifeline for many. Thinking about the legacy of the clinic is intimidating yet very inspiring.I am thankful for the incredible pioneers who brought light and hope to Freetown and continue to serve as a beacon of hope for the nation of Sierra Leone.I pray God continue to bless all who do good work and ensure that its work never stops and the light never dims.

West End Clinic and Its ImpactIf there ever was a family practice that has spanned generations in our nation, then that practice is West End Clinic!Delivering health care from cradle to grave, West End clinic continues to provide quality service to families across their progenies.I was introduced to this unassuming clinic on Edward Street by a friend who as you might imagine was born and had taken her first breath within its pristine walls. My friend would go on and on about going to West End Clinic to shadow Dr. Bisi from whom she was hoping to pick up clinical skills; so one day I tagged along and that meeting has had a profound influence in my life.We were aspiring doctors in our freshman year of 1992/93, looking for someone to take us under their wing and provide us with much needed mentorship in our chosen field of study. We did not only find a doctor mentor in Dr. Bisi, but a friend, a sister, an aunt and an awe inspiring leader of this family establishment. She was all of those rolled in one and I sometimes wonder at her inexhaustible energy, cheer and charm while carrying out these roles. She welcomed and accommodated us as fledglings and provided us with the clinical space that saw us grow into mature medical students and subsequently qualified professionals. The staff of West End Clinic became a family. Those were the days of Nurse Whenzle, Janju-Brown, Nurse Sannah, Nurse Atilla, Hannah Brown……(to name but a few) as I recall the echo of their names resounding along the corridors. Pa Cole the patriarch, became ‘Daddy’ as he was fondly called by Dr. Bisi. I missed getting to know the matriarch of this wonderful establishment as I would have loved to, as I understand she was an exceptional nurse and midwife.Suffice it to say, I received maternity care for my children and birthed my second son at West End Clinic and named him in honour of the best family physician I have ever come to know!Dr. Bisi and the entire staff of West-End Clinic (Past and Present), we applaud your outstanding contribution to healthcare delivery in Sierra Leone and as you celebrate this diamond jubilee may the legacy of Dr. and Mrs. A.B Claudius-Cole continue on forever!!

At the beginning of rainy season in 1985 I was born upstairs in the maternity ward at West End Clinic, I grew up in the warmth and love of the clinic, contemplated my future career in the clinic room with Grandad then with Aunty Bisi whilst sleeping off one ailment or other in the examination room, I saw patients in my electives wondering if I truly had what it takes and studied medicine in the hope that one day I would also care for our community like my grandparents and family have.60 years and 60x60x60 years more to come and many many live saved and to be saved. My love, my heart, my home

The biggest impact from my grandparents at West End Clinic was their work ethic and commitment to patients. As a dentist and practice owner these skills and life lessons have made me the clinician and business owner I am today.Secondly their commitment to staff was second to none, developing a team that loved their jobs and the patients and community they served. A huge testament to both my grandparents for fostering an environment that their staff could thrive.

It was when i became pregnant with our second baby after losing the first. I then thought that Dr. Bisi will be the best option. I visited West End Clinic and enjoyed every bit of the care, the cleanliness and all.At a point I needed to be admitted and I enjoyed the collaborative care of both sisters. It was a great moment indeed. The counseling, the guidance etc. It's a blessing to see such a legacy still standing after 60years.

I first became a patient at the West End Clinic when I was Economic Adviser at Unipetrol (SL), which was granted fuel distribution franchise by the Sierra Leonean government
Our MD, Henry O. Macauley (RIP), who already had experienced the quality of service provided by West End Clinic suggested we have the Clinic as a retainer medical service provider to the Uniptrol staff.Fast forward to 2023, the West End Clinic is the first port of call for me, my wife, my 4 children, my 4 grandchildren, my mother (RIP), my parents-in-law, and scores of friends and other relatives. My life was saved when Bisi insisted that I went to Accra for an angiography, after a fainting episode. I ended up with two stents, but my heart is in a much better state now.My son's life was spared when Bisi and a team of other doctors correctly diagnosed an erupted appendix. My son had to go through 2 surgeries here in SL and one in Canada. Thank God he's fine now. This is all because, when my 33-year old son was in an excruciating surge of pain, after 11 pm on October 6th, 2022, I called Bisi, who promptly left her bed and met us at the West End Clinic just after midnight. On July 25th, 2023 my daughter, Yeiwah, had food poisoning. West End Clinic Celebrates 60 Years
Thanksgiving and Memorial Service in loving Memory of Dr. and Mrs. A. B. Claudius-Cole, founders of West End Clinic.Aunty Rosaline Claudius-Cole (nee Slowe) and Dr. A.B. Claudius-Cole are no more with us, but they left their legacy in the form of West End Clinic at Edward Street in Freetown, Sierra Leone. It is still in existence after 60 good years now. I was seven years old when they established this clinic. Fortunately, this clinic has rendered medical assistance to some of my relatives.Dr. and Mrs. A. B. Claudius-Cole lived their life with love, generosity, kindness, compassion and dignity. They were both Christians and never missed their church services at Wesley Methodist Church, Trelawny Street now Lamina Sankoh Street in Freetown, Sierra Leone. They always put people in the community first, patients in particular, making sacrifices in so many ways to save their lives. Aunty Rosaline was a devoted FSSGian and we FSSGians were all proud of her.Aunty Rosaline was a lover of her kitchen, her domestic areas and families. Dr. Claudius-Cole was very hard-working and was respected for that. They were an example to many of us.Well done to Dr. Olabisi Claudius-Cole, their second daughter who took over from them. Also to, all the Carews who are medical doctors, in-laws, children and grandchildren, relatives, other medical staff and the entire administrative team.Continue to rest in perfect peace, Dr. and Mrs. A.B. Claudius-ColeCongratulations West End Clinic!
